I had delivery of an Ultimaker 5 and can now make PPE face shields 3 at a time.

3D printing evolution has really impressed me. Plastics now include carbon fibre filled, GRP and Peek to name a few.

This model can pause at a specified layer enabling a metal part to be inserted into a pocket before proceeding.

The complex geometry of the underwater tripod brackets would be very difficult and costly to manufacture using conventional machining. Using a 3D printer and carbon reinforced plastic, a small production batch can be efficiently made in a few days. This has the added advantage that improvements to the design can be quickly implemented.
